BSD's Dan Paley was fed up of breaking plastic bar ends but didn't want the hassle of screw in ones, that's when he came up with the idea of the BSD M-Cap, a push in bar end with a metal surround. The part that hits the ground is metal as is the part between the bars and bar end. The best of both worlds.
